IMPORTANT REMINDER Please note that any objection to the above named development has to be submitted to the Council by the 2nd July. To stand any chance we have of overturning the proposals, it is important that we provide as many objections as possible. If we, as those who are the major ones affected by the unwelcome intentions for Seven Kings Way, do not object then the developers will use this as a signal that the proposed improvements to their original scheme now meet with our approval. So, if you want to protect our environment, can I ask you to deliver your objection to one of the addresses quoted in our message of 14th. June? It is of course your choice as to whatever point(s) you wish to raise or object to, but below are some suggestions that you might want to consider:
The intention to create a left hand turn from Sopwith Way into Richmond Road will not, initially, include HDV's of more than 7.5 tonnes - meaning that 100% of these vehicles will be routed through Seven Kings Way (this position likely to remain after the completion of Phase 2). The increased level of vehicles moving through this road will result in considerable problems in respect of traffic movement
the level of noise, even on the developers' optimistic figures, will almost double during the day and be very close to doing so at night time - both unacceptabe positions. But what is the result of all HDV's are using Seven Kings Way?
Air quality can but suffer due to the increase in traffic volume and, all the more so if 100% of HDV's are pushed through to Seven Kings Way
Although the height of the Development has been reduced from 25 to 17 storeys, the adverse impact of loss of daylight and sunlight on some of our properties will still be an unwelcome feature
Whatever your thoughts as to the latest proposals, please do submit your views to the Council. It would be tragic if we were to lose this battle due to lethagy or lack of interest. If you do have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. Des McRow
